I typically run over the green from a short distance out using my pitching wedge. Should I try my sand wedge for a short pop and roll?

Depends on the shot you need to play. Typically I try to only fly the ball as far as needed and roll as much as possible:

- If the green starts 20 feet away and the pin is 40 feet away I'd use my 50 degree wedge (most people would likely use a PW as it's normally a 1:1 carry/roll for a PW however my roll is a little longer than carry with a PW) to chip the ball and land it just on the putting surface so that it rolls-out to the hole.

- If the green starts 20 feet away but the pin is 60 feet away I'd do the same chip shot but use my 8i, landing it around the same spot so that it rolls-out enough.
