hello friends!

Now that i finally have my irons set, i'm in the market for a driver... just bought over globalgolf taylormade tour burner driver 10,5 in reg, before i owned a nike sasquatch 2 with an aldila vs proto 65 stiff! The aldila shaft was a bit to stiff for me.. had problems controlling the face, so i opted for the taylormade in reg, now my trajectory is way high and im a bit shorter!
ive heard really good things about the cobra zl driver. ive also already held it in my hands, but unfortunately never had the opportunity to hit it!
Now for my question the standard shaft is an aldila voodoo, which flex should i get?? stiff or reg my swingspeed is somewhere in the 90ies, on good days stiff is perfect on bad days reg would do it! my average drives run at around 240-250 yrds. every once and i while ill rip one to about 280 or something but not really worth mentioning.
would really be thankful for your opinions!!

Honestly i would be careful about the shaft i bought a cobra S2 and i had to replace the shaft (it was a Stiff shaft but tested as a regular) so if you have to get the shaft that comes with it i would go with the stiff because the new light shafts they are making don't hold up very well to high swing speeds but you might have to replace it in the long run anyway. Not to bash cobra because now with the shaft i bomb this driver 295 Average i love it i would live and die by it. Now i do realize the shaft in my S2 was a fujikura and maybe the ZL being a little pricier you will have no problem with it but i would say with a 95 swing speed a Regular would be fine and you wouldn't feel the need to crush it but with the way my shaft was i would go with stiff and maybe the same thing will happen that it turns out its a Regular

Hope This Helped

    • Day 75 (15 Jul 25) - Wedge work today in the backyard.  Focused on setup and  dialing in on immediate target line point in front of club. This drill helps me to center on longer range targets for tee shots as well as approaches.
    • I still need to do my pieces better.  Still a little steep in the downswing. Hands could get better depth earlier in the backswing.  This shot started left of target and went left. Probably path was out, face was closed a lot.       At A5, it’s probably the best it’s been.  I need to feel more shallowing from A5 to A6. Hands need to go straight down and club needs to shallow. I need to turn. I am just way too closed here. Just trying to buy time to lower the arms. Everything stalls from time to time. Timing is highly variable. Not a big fan of the slight EE.  I am just hanging back at impact.

    • Well, on a "Bummer Note,"  I borrowed a Great Big Bertha driver, a 5 wood, and a 7 iron. I did not do very well but did shoot a 112 playing both right and left handed.   So, I decided to take a breather and play golf on my Play Station 5 and not play any real golf until the new set of clubs get her.  So, I will be back in  a week or so and bring everyone up to date.    Retired Old Man = Terry
    • I usually just drink a beer after playing golf. I may stretch my arm out and alert the barkeep that I want a second beer!
