and man was it ugly. 8)

Good thing it was just a small bucket.  At least I hit every ball I swung at.  I was able to begin to make some corrections and got the ball to change direction a few times.  I probably haven't been to a driving range in over a year, and I know I haven't played a round of golf in about two years.  Going to be an uphill battle this spring.

The good news is that I finally have a direct hire job now.

Congrats on the job man.  I'm just coming off an injury that annoyed me into quitting golf altogether.  I've played my first rounds in a year and a half the last couple weeks.  Of course all my old tendencies came out, but I've been video recording myself making small changes over the last month and honestly the lack of muscle memory has made adopting these changes easier I think.  I've struggled on the course, but am starting to get the feel back and I've hit some of the best shots I've ever hit my last two driving range sessions.  Bottom line I know where you are coming from but after getting out on the course (and struggling) I can't figure out why I ever wanted to stop playing to begin with.

I think I'll prop the phone up behind me next time I go so I can get some video as I try some different things with the clubs. It will be nice to actually see what's happening when I swing the clubs. I think my daydream of qualifying for the US Open is just a bit out of reach, but I'll keep the dream alive "just in case" everything starts to work.

Yep yep yep. I'm keeping a couple of spare clubs in the car and might do some swing practice during my lunchtime walks at work. Some of the Golfchannel instructor shows talk about just practicing the swing every day, so even if I don't hit the range I'll still do something every day. I might also do some chipping practice with found balls in a greenway between the business park and adjacent golf course next to the new job. Plan to go sign up at a local near-home course this week to start re-establishing my handicap index as well.
