For some reason, I've been pushing the hell out of all my full shots all week. I have to compensate by opening my stance and aiming well to the left, and odds are my ball still finds its way to the right rough. It's not a push-slice, just a simple squirt out to the right, and it keeps going that way.

At the same time, I noticed going well past parallel with my irons brings about a draw...enough to cancel out the push, plus an extra 20 yards of range. Is this what I should do, or am I simply compensating without fixing the problem?

you are probably sliding your hips toword the target and getting ahead of the ball at impact. imagine that their is a wall directly behind you and that there is a giant rubber band connected from your left hip to that wall. on your first move into the downswing you want that rubber band to pull your left hip straight back to the wall and it should help your push out alot.

Try This
Your swing path is the problem as it is too much in to out but the clubface is square as it is going straight right.
So go and hit some balls on the range and get a ball tube and place 2 inches from the ball on line with the target and when you swing if you go in to out you will hit the tube this will give you the feeling that you have to rotate your body which will then get your swing path more on line as you would hit the tube with your swing where if you can swing on the line of the tube then your swing path will be on line
Cheer and hope this helps

From time to time I get into the same routine pushing my shots to the right. I believe it was Johnny Miller that says "CHASE THE BALL" Follow through finishing each shot toward the point of aim.

Another issue I have is occasionly I get into the habit of holding on too long, not releasing the club, hands get out in front, therefore the face is open at impact. Fix= time at the range Tempo, Tempo, Tempo IMO. Finish each shot!!

I've fixed the problem, somewhat, by taking the club back, well past parallel. It gives me a long draw, the problem is, when I mishit, it turns into a duck-hook.

I think you need to find yourself a mirror or a camera. It sounds like you used to have a too flat swing plane with a laid off at the top position and now you have now become more across the line at the top.

    • Worst thing on Sunday was that NBC and Peacock wouldn't let me FF through the commercials on my DVR recording. Very boring when a guy has a huge lead on the final round and everyone else is playing for 2nd place. At least it was USA 1-2-3 in the end.
    • First day of a trip to Bandon Dunes. We played Sheep Ranch today. A Coore/Crenshaw designed course. A par 34 on the front and 38 on the back. With 8 holes with either a green, tee box, or the hole runs along the edge of the bluffs at the pacific. It has amazing vistas. With wide fairways and intermixed gorse bushes. The defense of the course are its large, undulated greens and the daily winds from the north. Many times you need to take 3-4 clubs more, if you even barely cross the wind, your ball can be taken offline or come up half to a full club short. A fantastic layout.    here are some photos.
    • At Sheep’s Ranch, Bandon Dunes. Shot an 84. That wind was nasty going from like hole 7 forward. It was like a 3-4 club wind if in the face. Greens are tricky with the natural grass.
    • Yes. The full swing is not that different, and speed is important with all of them. You don't see Tour players hitting their driver 310 and then hitting their 7I 160. Of course, but they're nothing like those for the full swing.
    • How about with the high numbered irons such as the 9 iron? Is the swing the same with that? If that's the case then I stand corrected.  OK, although there is physics involved in the putt too.
