i just made an iron switch from the burner 1.0 to the taylormade cb last month.  I made the switch hoping to get an iron to that would be more precise and help me transtion to a legit single handicapper.  ( i played to as low as a 9 last summer)  However i feel that i have lost tremendous distance 1 club +.  Kind of expected going from an 85 gram shaft to a 117 grams shaft and normal lofts.  My swing speed is around 80 with a six iron.  The Mizuno shaft fit chose the following TT XP which is what i currently play in the CBs, the PX 5.0 and the KBS Tour.  However, i played twice in Hawaii with the Titleist AP1s with the Nippon 105T shaft and didn't lose any distance next to by burners.  The shaft for TT puts me in a Dynalite SL and KBS fits me to the KBS tour 90 on their webfits.  ( i used the numbers from my mizuno shaft fit)

I guess I'm qustioning how well my irons fit me.  I was hoping i could get some advice -

- just stick with CBs

- was thinking of reshafting the CBs with the KBS Tour 90

- thinking of just purchasing a more player friendly iron with a lighter shaft like  the R11 or AP1 710

Really just want to have an iron that i feel comfortable with and gives me the best chance to play my best and really question the "formal" fittings that i've had   thankd for your help

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
