Hey guys,

I will be honest, I am very familiar with the products of the big name golf companies in both the U.S. and overseas, however It is hard for me on my own to figure out what is best for me.

I'm around a 15 handicap currently. I used to be much better until I reached a point in my life when I didnt play a single round for over 4+ years and then had an injury and had to have a shoulder reconstructed. I'm a smaller guy that doesnt have much power behind my swing and has an average swing speed in the 85-90mph range. I would like to speed up my swing, but I simply dont have the best range of motion or power to do so. I have figured out drivers and woods that work for me (burner superfast 2.0) but I cannot seem to figure out irons. The only thing I know for sure is that I do not want to be playing steel shafts and I like a real rubbery/sticky grip.

Should I be looking at stiff or regular graphite shafts? Any in particular? I would like to add some distance to my shots. I drive in the 200yd range with an every so often bomb in the 220-235 range. Before I switched to the superfast I was around 180-190 with an occasional 200yd drive.  I hit the RBZ and it didnt work for me at all, the r11s was good, but not as good as the superfast 2.0, my swing speed is also faster with the 2.0, and even though the clubs are long, I can still hit them consistently and feel comfortable.

Any recommendations on irons and shafts? I have the chance to hit nearly anything, and I dont really care what the cost is. I want to improve my game now that I am able to play much more frequently.

Thanks

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
