I am fairly new to golf and don't yet have an official handicap. On a good day I am about 18 but no better. I have some questions about my wedge set. I have a 52 degree Bearclaw GW by Goldenbear but it doesn't say the bounce anywhere? It's a cheap wedge but does have a milled face and is quite easy to strike the ball. What is the likely bounce on it? I also have a used 56 degree Cleveland CG10 SW with 10 degrees of bounce. It is very versatile and easy to use - I like it! Finally I have a 60 degree Benross "Zip It" LW with 5 degrees of bounce. Unless I am very close to the green I am very inconsistent with it even from very tight lies. I have tried using it from about 50-60 yards in but I am often take a massive divot and the ball only goes 10-15 yards. I have lost confidence with the LW and am now using my SW from both tight and fluffy lies with pretty consistent results. Would I benefit from a LW with a higher bounce - say a medium bounce of 10 degrees? Thanks!

Most of the time bounce is definitely your friend.  As you know you have to be very precise with that 5* bounce LW.  10* or 12* will likely make that club far more playable.  I would guess your GW is about 10* of bounce.  Just a guess though.

The reason I said most of the time in my response is because under certain conditions a lower bounce club is preferable.  I like the low bounce LW when the ground is hard or from tight lies.  Also like it when the sand is wet and hard.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
