I recently changed to a new swing coach because he was highly recommended. He isn't PGA and claims he belongs to the WGA or something like that. Anyway, his teaching technique is rather unusual but very effective. He swears by three main fundamentals,
1) A grip or hold on the club with more right hand control with the right pinky on the handle
2) Something he calls better footwork, where the golfer addresses the ball feeling like a gun slinger ready to shoot from the right holster (achieving more pressure on the inside right heel), more of a 60/40 weight distribution
3) And finally, at the start of the downswing this pressure point should be maintained and if possible slightly increased.
These three things are very new to me and although they seem to work quite well, I'm not sure if I am just instilling bad mechanics. He also does some visualisation stuff but I have only scratched the surface on this. Could any of you perhaps enlighten me on the above directives?
Any comments would be welcome.

Clarifying questions:

1. A ten finger grip? Or a reverse overlap?

2. Is this a knee bend butt down thing? I've never been a gunslinger.

3. Maintain pressure on the inside right heal?

4. Are you a 4.4? What are you hoping will come from the lessons and new teacher?

1) Reverse overlap, I think. Left index finger over the right pinky.

2) Yes, I almost feel as if I could do the toilet.

3) Yes

4) I was between 1 and 2 and slipped to over 6, this is the first guy who has managed to get me moving in the right direction again.
