Yeah, but lost it due to penalty. Still nice to see him up there. It has been a tough year so far for him

Actually the first race I've watched this year. I'm a very inconsistent fan.

But I was a much bigger fan when Schummy was Schummy! So it got me pumped to see him get pole this year.

Did he get it because his car is particularly good this year, or was he just showing a glimpse of his old self?

The team is a lot better, his teamate got a pole and win this year. If it rains though watch out got Schummy, he'll find his way to a nice podium finish.

I went to get a cup of coffee for a minute, and when I came back I saw a shot of Schumacher walking through the tunnels... what happened?

Schumacher still has the pace, but he's had terrible luck at Mercedes since coming out of retirement. I think he can still win races, but he is at a 59-2 disadvantage in points this season to his teammate, Rosberg, who is still in the thick of the championship. Schumi inevitably will be playing a support role at Mercedes for the rest of 2012, and one has to question if he will have the opportunity to stand atop the podium this year. Things are shaping up for a fantastic season, that's for sure. Six drivers and five teams have won the first six races of the year, and that roll doesn't yet include Schumacher, Button, or the two Lotus drivers, all of whom have the talent and equipment to take victories in 2012. Alonso is willing his Ferrari into the championship lead, which is far more than the car deserves; the Red Bulls don't have the fastest car on any given week, but they never take a wrong step on the track; the McLarens may have the fastest cars, but they have been abysmal in executing their race strategy. At this point of the season, a hierarchy is usually established in Formula 1. This year, the entire top half of the grid is still a mess.
