I used to play at a private club near me once or twice a year and I always thought it was great they had a large bucket of corn tee's (tees made from corn that are decompose quickly) for all players to use.  Just go up grab a handful and away you go......Well they stopped the practice and I hadn't seen them since ,until this year.  I picked up a box of 1000 corn tees on fleabay for 28 bucks but they just didn't seem the same as the ones I remembered. They hold up great on the course and I'd say they seem to last longer than wood but break easier than plastic.  Well just for giggles I put one in a bucket of water on my deck after a day it was "slimey" feeling and after a week it was "gooey" after 16 days it was dissolved (mostly).  I don't really think its a necessary thing and I use them mostly because they are a cool conversation starter and they weren't expensive.

I got thinking there was a discussion years ago of someone who filed for a patent for a golf tee made out of grass seed that explode on impact....those, I think would be cool.  I'm not sure if anyone ever actually made it.  Anybody ever seen one of these?

Sounds like the balls that shatter when you hit them or the ones that roll a little then explode.  Those would be hilarious until someone got you unnoticingly. Of course, if I start my backswing and mid shot notice that the ball isn't the one I want to hit, I always hit a terrible shot anyways...

16 days for a bio tee to decompose doesn't seem all the important to me.

the grounds crew should have mowed that tee box and picked up the tee's by then :)

I can say I have never paid for a golf tee in my life! I don't care what they are made of nor do I care what color they are. I do like these tees at the course made out of resin though. They are close to indestructible. I grab a handful and they last forever. I only need one a round.

My point for buying these tees wasn't the biodegradable factor honestly. I liked the ones I got free because they held up so well. The real question here was if anyone had seen the grass seed tees. I'm curious if they were ever made. I found the original patent was filed in the 20's

    • 39, +4. A bit better hip slide stuff. More lateral, less turn with the hips.
    • Day 11: Worked on putting with the metronome
    • I added to total today by hopping it in on the first hole for an eagle. A short par 4, I hit 4 wood to 110. With a little breeze in my face I hit a 50 degree gap wedge to 2 feet and watched it hop into the hole for an eagle 2!
    • Sounds good. Text me if you have any questions. You have a good setup, too, and so long as you can get good camera angles… you should be good. https://skillest.com/@iacas
    • Day 14 (September 18).  Morning practice, despite questionable weather (it's raining).   Worked on chipping at first, including run-ups with UW and PW;  I've noticed lately some of my near-GIRs are missing forward, with nothing but grass ahead of me, but 20-30 yards to the pin.  After a few misadventures putting those lately, I wanted to at least get a feeling for what a 30-yard chip shot that doesn't have the variance of my quarter lob wedge would feel like.  I still think "putt when you can putt" is right, but... I am less sure I have a 30 yard putt in me.  Range time also, of course, same routine as the past week or so (drill, 3-4 slow shots, etc).   Did not get to the putting green as it was starting to come down a bit more. Darn, it really is raining.  And I thought today would be a perfect day to play, seeing as how it's 9-18 and all.
