If you hit into the group in front or get close just apologize it's easier for everyone. Better yet yell fore if you think your going to reach. We've all done it. felt the group in front is clear and then tagged one. It's more likely for a mid handicapper whos distances may not be consistant from round to round.

The guy who picked up you ball was very much in the wrong. When that happens call the pro shop on your cell and let them handle it. A holes like that are bad for golf.
