Got a story and its a bit long sorry.....but I don't often have anything interesting to write about....this one was very ummmm interesting.

Last evening I went up to my local course to get a late 9 in by myself.  The guy at the club house asks if I would mind pairing up and although I was looking forward to some alone time, I said sure.  Well I get paired up with a woman, younger (30ish)  fairly attractive and my first thought is, God please don't let anyone see me because my wife will never believe me that this wasn't some kind of date.

Well it turns out she is the sister of my sons teacher, is nice and a pretty good golfer.  So I relax and am having a decent round. 5th hole is the only par 5 on the front; its about 510 from the ladies and she hits a monster drive over the drainage ditch I use for my "really good drive" indicator when I hit  from the men's tee's 10 yards back .  Her Second shot is a great 3wood, I tell her "I think you're on" but she says" it looked like it rolled off the back".  Well my third shot is off to the right of the green about 10 feet and I walk up to it while she goes to look for her ball.....then the scream...as she's walking across the green she reaches into the cup and bingo, there it is......I hoot because I'd never seen anyone put one in in two before...she runs across the green jumps up and wraps her arms and legs around me and plants a big one on me.....OH HELL!  I let out an uncomfortable laugh and finish out the hole and I'm a wreck. I tell her I'm not sure what to call that but it was awesome! Her reply.........Too bad you're married, I'd love to celebrate that right now.....After that I shot the worst 4 holes I think of my life......got home and I had to look up what a 3 under par was really called...I know I should have known it but I didn't.

I know this sounds like the start of a dear penthouse letter and all but it is 100% legit and to be honest I think the albatross was the more amazing thing.....in 25 years of golf I'd never seen one and I've seen plenty of women wanting to "celebrate"

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
