yeah, final round, and after at least one warning the local pro. Fisher, was hammered with a one stroke penalty on the 14th  hole. He was reported to be in a rage and lost his cool and the tourney. The former Thai soldier, Jaidee, was the winner.  So perhaps the slow play penalty is creeping onto the pro circuits. Lately the Ladies', now the European and next the US Open. (maybe).

To be fair, he was losing by one at the time, and he'd been on the clock for five or six holes without making up ground.

Good.

I am not going to go through all the various aspects you propably have missed regarding slow play but refrain myself to the essential aspect regarding pro golf.

Quite a few pro tournaments are tv-broadcasted and surprisingly many of those broadcasts have limitations afa starting and ending times of that broadcast are concerned. I bet you yourself would be less than thrilled if a real time broadcast of an important PGA tournament or a Major would be discontinued according to original tv schedule even though the last three flights have not even finished their round yet. I bet at that point you would have liked that someone had rushed the players a bit, huh?

It is not about race, it is all about concideration towards other people.

Slow play penalty has been there for a longer period than you think. One of the famous cases within these past years was propably this: http://www.golfdigest.com/golf-tours-news/2009-08/golf_wgc_bridgestone_slow_play
