I have been going to the range almost every day for the last three weeks working on my game. Every part of my games has improved. I usually can two putt most holes or better, I can hit most pitches and chips with ease, but my full swing? Horrendous.

Being that I am fifteen and have a budget, I haven't been able to get lessons. Frustrated with slices, hooks, and all that, I went to the internet to look for some kind of structure. I found the two plane swing and implemented it into my swing. And it worked. I was hitting nice high draws and could comfortably shape my shots when I needed to.

Now today it began to fail epically. I was hitting high slices and so I tried to close my clubhead, but that translated to a hook. I find I am hitting it fat even though my weight is forward and I am sliding my hips. I practically have done everything I can to make a good golf shot and it just doesn't work. So I don't know what to do. A new swing? I am saving for lessons, but I won't be able to get them until next spring. I am buying a video stand so I can record my swing, but for now I am just doing trial and error. I would appreciate some advice or guidance as to what I should do.

Thanks, Kingzilla

Best general advice I can give in a situation like this is simply: make the biggest swing you can make that you can control and hit the ball well. If it's 20%, start there, and work your way back up. Never do more than you can do and succeed half the time - keep operating on the edge. Just making full swings and not doing them well won't help you - go back to swings you can make and do properly, then slowly grow the length from there.

take a week off then start again,.....a big thing i find is physical and mental fatigue can set in, then your swing goes to shit

take time off and start again when refreshed

I cannot stress this enough.  I find that when I take 5-6 days off I come back refreshed and things are much better than before I took the break.

the easy way to judge this it to consistently hit the same amount of balls,...even if your dying to work on something, set yourself a limit and never go voer it,....

then lets say i hit 100 balls a day,...for 3-4 days ill do that no sweat, then the 5th/6th days i get tired by 90 balls, then im tired by 80 balls, once im getting tired by 70 balls, i pack up and have a break away for a few days or a week

Thanks for the replies. I probably could take a break, especially since I have been going none stop for weeks. I like the idea of doing smaller swings. I find I can make great shots when I choke down on my clubs and swing 70%. Maybe I will start from there...
