I've been Playing Golf for: 2-3 months

My current handicap index or average score is: N/A

My typical ball flight is: Fade

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Slice

I've not been playing very long I've had no lessons I've just been hitting and hoping and changing things as I go, hoping to get lessons soon before I get any more bad habits. I tend to slice my Driver more than any other club. Guess its because its the one I swing fastest and the club which is longest. Although I'm pretty rubbish with my sand wedge as well.

Ive got a video of my swing. Three swings of my driver to be exact. I've been trying to concentrate on keeping my right armpit close to my body and swing to hit the inside of the ball. My balls are starting to fade and slice less frequently. As well as less severely.

Im a little shaded as the contrast from the range under cover and the bright outside isn't fabulous. Also I had to make do with propping my phone up to take the video. going to get some one to film me soon with a head on view and from the same angle on the course .

Videos:

I would suggest putting a slow motion video up of your swing. It seems you take the club very outside to in which is the cause of your fade. Remember to swing through the ball it looks like your swinging across it from what I can see. Focus on bring your club back a little more inside and I think you will start swinging a little better.

I'm gonna try get a hold of a decent camera to get a proper swing video. I might see if you can get a slo mo app for my iPhone in the mean time, though think the frame rate is only 30.

Yeah I'm trying to swing more in to out at the moment I can hit an almost impressive slice at times lol been doing a bit of reading on swings. Basically teaching myself at the minute. I'm pretty body conscious so can generally feel what I'm doing with my swing just don't know when I look at a video what is a good or bad swing lol

As for swinging through the ball, would this just be concentrating more on my follow through than actually connecting with the ball?

Been trying stack and heap, and trying to swing into out initial results seem to be working. Balls are majorly straighter, even a few draws today. Look to still be swinging steeper on the down swing than back swing but not as much as before.

When I get a friend or am somewhere the bays aren't in the way ill get a video up of a head on view where you can see the stack and heap setup better.

One specific question is my swing a bit fast?

Any opinions/criticism welcome.

Have you purposely been tweaking your address posture?  It seems you look much more upright in the second video.  Also, you have a large curve in your lower spine, try to relax and straighten the lower spine.

You seem to have a very "armsy" swing, very little hip rotation.  If you rotate a little more, it might help you not cut across the ball.

bestbuy had the Kodak Playfull HD camers, its s simple recorder that goes 1080p 30 frames per second, 720 p 60 frames per second, and 720p 30 fps, the 720/60 fps is good for slowing your swing down and catching things you miss with the 30 fps and the camera's only 40 bucks

Not on purpose no. Being more upright is maybe happening because I've been trying to put more weight on my left leg, is that a bad thing? I've been trying to keep my back straighter but find it hard to not hunch my shoulders if i don't stick my ass as such lol. Moving my hips has been an issue just because the lateral rotation of the hips and most of the golf swing are quite foreign movements for me.

Don't have best buy in britain but i'v been looking on amazon, e-buyer etc to see what cameras are available. I'll check that camera out though. Cheers.

Was at the range the other day filmed this.

Hit my irons pretty well even long irons. Just a bit scared of my driver lol, I've got a couple of lesson in a few weeks that my girlfriends mum and dad got me for a graduation present so hopefully get some things to work on

Two things jumped out to me.  First, your head is dipping and moving backwards on your backswing.  The second is that you need a much steeper shoulder turn.  You can create this by side tilting left and getting your hips tilted, too, by straightening your right leg on your backswing.

Sorry if I'm being stupid does side lilt mean that I would be leaning left or that I will be rotating more while staying relatively centred?

Also the picture on the right looks less upright. My head dips to a similar angle in the downswing.  does this mean my address spine position is to steep?

Side tilt means leaning left (for the backswing), yeah.  You just have to make sure to also rotate and also extend your spine at the same time in order to remain centered.

Your inclination at address looks a bit too upright, though it might be influenced by other things as well.

Thanks for the clarification. I find it very unnatural to rotate my hips in the manor the golf swing requires. It's something I've been consciously trying to do maybe to the detriment of some other things though (I can only think about one thing at a time lol) seem to be getting more erratic with the more I practice.
