Strain or minor tear on outside of foot

I was hitting off of mats at the driving range (terrible idea), and I woke up the next day with pain in my left foot.  It doesn't hurt to walk, but simulating an impact position where all of my weight is on my left side and the inside portion of my foot is lifted up causes pain.

Attached is a picture where the pain is.  Injury occurred on 6/22/12.  Pain has lessened since then, but not gone.  No swelling. No redness.  I'm 19Y/O.

Pain in the ankle or outside of the foot can also be from the muscles that go all the way up to your knee. A common running injury is actually one that's caused by straining the peroneus longus, for example, resulting in pain near the arch on the outside of the foot.

Wouldn't I feel pain in that area?  I guess my question is, since it's been a week after the strain/tear, how should i go about treating it?  Will Ice still help?

So far as I know, "RICE" still applies: rest, ice, compression, and elevation.
