I have a Callaway 3 wood and Progen FB 5 wood, and a Taylor made Rescue hybrid all with steel shafts

I recently tested out a Ping 3 wood with a Grafalloy blue graphite shaft, felt so much better for some reason....are graphite better than steel on fairways ? and do I need to bin all of the above and get a 4 wood maybe ?

One thing I know for sure is that graphite shafts tend to be lighter, thus increasing swing speeds. I prefer to have graphite shafts myself, but it really comes down to your personal feel.

It also DEPENDS on your swing speed. If you have a fast swing speed and a flex graphite, it will open up the club face. I used to prefer steel shafts over graphite because I had this problem. Then someone told me I needed to control the tempo of my swing speed instead of opting for the steel shafts. Now I play with r stiff graphite shafts.

    • I've been putting whilst looking at the hole and it's definitely helped my distance control
    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
