I live in Northern Maine so my winter break is fairly long. Usually about 2 months before the season starts I start hitting foam balls at work to work on my swing. The thing that happened this year is that I wasn't able to hit down properly on the ball because the matt is thin and the music room where I teach has a thin carpet on cement so hitting down is just not possible without doing some damage to the club. I was wondering if there are some good thick matts out there that really would allow me to simulate hitting through real grass and making good contact but has cushion that would prevent damaging the club. It took me about 4-5 weeks to groove a proper swing back into my irons which was frustrating. Thanks for any suggestions!
