The Country Club is only about 3 minutes from my house. Even though its so close it seemed as if the club was surrounded by a 30 ft concrete wall. It seemed nothing ever went in or came out of that place. I finally had the opportunity to play there and it was one of the best experiences I've had golfing. It was a great parallel between the course and the US Open at Oakmont, the course felt as if it was my own oakmont. The most challenging course I have ever played, not very long but hitting fairways was essential. The course currently has their rough at around 5 inches, I missed a lot of fairways and needed to lay up on many holes.

My usual round of 79-81 at my local public tracks turned into a 92, I was humbled. Awesome Awesome track, get out there if you can find the connections.

played there a few years ago...it was indeed a great track. Did you get to play the smaller course as well? It's alot like Southern Hills. I loved the huge Men's clubhouse and a separate women's clubhouse as well.

I played the Maine Course and the Primrose (9 Holes)... one of the best experiences you can have around this area. There are so many better golf courses but I'm young and I just can't see myself playing Pebble Beach and other great tracks simply because I can't afford it. I just graduated from college so the cash level is low and the opportunity to play TCC was just really unique

ps. if you are from the area they have NO sercuity on the course, you can walk on and play 2-8, 11-18, easily

    • I'm confused - the team of two is playing a scramble but the single player is playing best of two balls or is he playing a one man scramble with two shots? If the single is best of two balls, then I'd bet on the pair playing a scramble everytime. If it's a two man scramble versus a single person scramble, I'd take the single, at least until fatigue was a factor. Give a regular play two shots and I think he is going to play better than the other two guys. That said, probably works better for the solo for 9 holes than 18. If the solo was smart and self aware of his game, and many of us are not as aware as we should be, he would conserve his energy and not play a second swing after a good shot.
