Yo guys instead of getting another wedge I'm thinking of trading my Ping G5i Anser putter in and getting the Scotty Cameron putter. I LOVE the Scotty Cameron Circa 62 Putter NO. 1 but I can't find it anywhere under $300. Even last years model (???) or something it wouldn't be bad if I could get it under $280.

thx for your help.

Have a look at the link below. You should be able to get the Scotty Circa 62 for $260 shipping included.

I dont particularly like that model, yeah. but thanks a lot though for trying to help. I like the No. 1 cuz I feel the no. 3 and no. 6 look too much like what I got now the way the shaft runs into the blade of the putter.

Hey, one quick question, did you not like your ping anser? I ask because I am thinking about getting one. Thanks.

There is a place in campbell, ca called "geared for golf"... They take phone orders, special orders, etc.. Their pricing tends to be $260 on SC putters.

Yea im not a big fan of the Ping Anser G5i. I guess it's not really a BAD putter, but I just think that Odessey or Scotty Camerons are much better. Idk what the G5i putter goes for now, but I got it when it was $130 and that was wayy too much for it.

My understanding is that the scotty cameron designs are essentially the anser.

really? where did you hear that? I mean, the thing I don't like about the Anser is that the ball EXPLODES off the putter face on long lag putts. I end up blowing it like 5-10 feet by all the time because when you put a smooth stroke on it from about 35-40 feet away the ball just completely explodes off the putter face...I'm not a big fan of that, hard to have feel like that ya know?

I'm no expert, but the designs are very similar, I had read someone saying it on here (that if you cant putt an anser, you cant putt a SC)... ALso when I was at the store, the pro had mentioned that SCs are based on the anser patent... who knows tho.

oh really..hmm maybe ill either just stick it out and keep trying to work on my putting stroke with the anser or get a different putter like the odessey two ball.

thanks for the advice man.

I had a look into the SC v. Anser debate and it's actually true, the SC is based on the original Anser patent. Apparently patents expire after 20 years, which allowed Scotty to copy the design.

Now that is something I didn't know.

m not sure if this helps but you can try going to a mom and pop golf store and quite possibly get a better deal. When I was looking for a putter I found a shop that gave me Cash only price of $225 for any model Circa, $225 for any model/size Odyssey Black series, $230 for any model/size SC Studio Series, and $235 for any model/size Ping Redwood. I ended up going with a SC Studio 33" 350g.

Deals are out there. Don't confine yourself to the larger stores. The larger stores are good to go and try the item before hand though. That's what I did.

    • I had the D-9's a while back, thought the stock Wilson grips were rubbish.  I put Pure grips on them. Pure is now out of business but available on Golfworks.  Currently some colors in stock as of today. PURE Wrap Golf Grips - The GolfWorks PURE Golf's tackiest grip, the Wrap features a perforated wrap design and is ideal for golfers that prefer a slightly softer, more muted feel at impact.
    • If he had to hit over the bunker, I'm guessing he was further from the hole, although "in front of" implies the opposite.  If that's right, that may have been the right spot for penalty relief, a single PS.
    • Day 52. Trying to work on hard pan lie pitching in the rain in the yard.
    • Did you look up any Rules before posting here? What did you learn or find? You don't get to drop (or place) closer to the hole. 16.1(c) deals with relief for Abnormal Course Conditions in bunkers. You're granted free relief for: Since you say the bunker was basically entirely full of water, you likely wouldn't get complete relief, so for free (no penalty strokes), you are entitled to "maximum available" relief. If there's a spot in the back of the bunker away from the hole where the water is the shallowest, then you can drop there. If you don't like any of those options, you can take a penalty stroke and drop out of the bunker, behind it: You seem to have played from a wrong place (nearer to the hole) and thus likely should be penalized two strokes. It doesn't sound like a serious breach, at least.
