Our family will come from Finland to Fort Lauderdale for two weeks after the christmas and we would be very happy for some useful tips. Our hcp´s are me 22, wife 34 and our 11yrs old son 38 and we are going to play 3-4 courses. Does anyone have good ideas which 3 courses would be worth for seeing for us and is it best to book those times in advance direclty from the club/via travel agency, or is it easiest to book those when we have arrived via our Hilton Beach Hotel ... is it easy to get tee times during that season? Thank You in advance

Terve!   One place you should visit if you get homesick for Finland, is Lantana, Florida...just 20 miles north of Ft Lauderdale.  Lots of Finn emigrants live in Lantana, and also play golf.

Couple of good, affordable courses up in Lantana - Lacuna GC, Park Ridge. The latter (Park Ridge) is part of the Palm Beach County public courses, was built on a landfill. Before you chuckle, it actually has elevation changes, which is totally unique in flat South Florida. Haha, played there Sunday. It was a blast. The Lacuna course has been redone and is now called Atlantic National. It just reopened this winter and is a great Joe Lee design. There are so many good courses between Lantana and Fort Lauderdale that you really can't go wrong.
