I think he is talking about the Final match. I Won against the guy I had the issue with.

Did you? He won the match against the douchebag.

I don't know if it's codified, but whenever you're in match play & you want to take a drop, the first thing you do is call your opponent over & tell him what you're doing. Otherwise there's no one to 'protect the field.' You are, essentially 'the field.'

And after the round I would report him for what he did.

That issue was settled weeks ago.  If you don't want to be misunderstood then use the quote feature.

You mean like this? Gaw-lee that's purty good feeture!

All ritey,. So it's my fault you didn't know which match I referring to, even though he started his post with the douche-y moves the douchebag made. Even without using the quote feature, it should have been obvious what I was referring to. I credited you with the intelligence in knowing that.

Actually that was yesterday. Ahem...if you had read my post you would have known that.

It's a new day, a new chance for you to correct me on something I was already correct about.

On second thought, I'll take the high road.  Bye.

I'll meet you there since that's where I already was, just cruising along, giving my opinion on the OP's post. You were the one that said my post was incorrect when it wasn't (with the claim that I hadn't read the OP's when obviously I did).

You then claimed it way my fault for your confusion cuz I didn't use the quote feature. So either apologize for being wrong or leave me alone.

Thread hijack.

I played yesterday and my ball landed on the cart path, right smack dab in the middle of the path.

Free drop or no?

Also, free or not, where should I have dropped it?

You don't need to jack a thread.  Start a tread in the Rules forum.

Yes, free drop. You have to determine the 'nearest point of relief' then take 2 clublengths from there, no closer to the hole. So if it's in the smack middle of the path you still have to find the nearest point of relief. Might have to measure.

And just so you know, you don't "have" to take relief...you can hit it off the path if you want. Comes in handy if there's no good place to drop (high grass, etc)
