Hi all!

I'm looking to get some tips for my mother who really likes to golf.

She is 63 years old and recently purchased a new set of Adams 12OS clubs.  The new clubs have definitely improved her game but she has always had trouble with getting distance on her shots.  She has a very slow swing speed and she can never really seem to get further than 140 yards, even with a 3 wood or her hybrids.  Most of the time she is only hitting about 110 yards.

What advice would you give to a senior golfer to help increase distance?  Is it as simple as just trying to increase swing speed?  She is not frail but seems to have trouble generating swing speed.

Any tips, advice or exercise suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your time.

How's her flexibility?  If she is flexible enough to create a hand hinge and full shoulder turn and her hips can move independently, distance can be improved by improving technique. If she can physically hit the positions of a good swing, then working to hit them is the answer. Lessons?

If flexibility is her issue, work on that if possible. At the example of my 73 buddy, I started yoga a few weeks ago. Boy do I have room to improve flexibility, especially in my hips.
