Dick's where I live has a launch moniter no, so I went in with the r11s and took some cuts. It appears with the stock stiff r11s shaft my ss was 110mph with a carry of 268 and a total of 287 yards. When I took out the 70g x type shaft for the r11s my ss dropped to 106 and total drive to 270.

Does an extra stiff shaft actually drop your swing speed some?

Anyway I went with the stock r11s and I couldn't be happier! It definately feels alot hotter than the r11 I gamed, and I was using a prov1x yesterday in 45 degree temps with wind gusts of 15mph and I did not see much of a difference in distance over my r11 when it was warmer. This leads me to believe that I should see more distance when it's warmer for this club. In addition my numbers on the par 5s have actually dropped to PAR! Which is awesome for a 15 handicapper.

Just wondering what everyone else's thoughts are on the r11s and did you gain distance on your r11s?

What were the weights of the two shafts? You didn't say what the stock shaft was.

The stock shaft was a 60g.  The 70g kind of made my ball flight too low I think and that was with the club set at 9 degrees.  I shudder to think what would have happened if I had it set at 8 degrees.

With the one I bought that has the stock 60g shaft I did lower it to 8 degrees which really seemed right. Then I went back to Dick's today to tune my R11s. It was very helpful. Where on Thursday it took a 110mph ss to get a total of 285 yards. After the tune I got with a 105 mph ss 305 yards. He put my weights to nuetral becuase they apparently are setup with a draw and then kept the face neutral as well as lowered the loft to 8 degrees from 9. My launch angle was 11.5 degrees and RPMS were from 1700 to 2800 rpms. Carry was 280. Very helpful!

I judge all my settings by how they are on the course, not a monitor. I hit the ball very high and yet have my R11s set on highest loft. Go figure. It works for me.

Did you have the R11 previously and did you notice a difference in distance, or accuracy, or feel between the two?

Did not have the R11 nor have I hit one. sorry. From what I see the only difference is two settings of open/closed on the face. And to tell you the truth the R11s set at the extremes of open or closed does funky things to the shaft.

Just got a good deal on a used one about a month ago. I had been using an 07 Burner for the last few years. I gave myself a $200 limit and set out to hit a variety of clubs in that range. Was getting it narrowed down and went into a local shop to hit last couple before deciding. They happened to have a used R11s in my price range which hadn't been on my radar since they are twice what I was looking to spend. After hitting it on a monitor with other drivers and my current Burner, I swooped it up and have been happy since. With the off season coming, I'll be messing with the settings to see what I like. Have played a few rounds and notice a positive difference over my last driver.
