I am puzzled about putters. How can you tell if your putter is a good fit to your putting style? What is involved in putter fitting? Anybody done it? Was it worth it?

There are a lot of factors.

First off, are you a Pelz or Utley putter? Square/square or arc, basically? That'll change face angle, where the shaft goes, etc. Do you forward press? How long should the shaft be? Esthetic concerns matter, of course. Further on down the line, even things like shaft stiffness matters, if you get really specific.

It will tell you the specs of what you should have. i.e. Length, loft, etc. will also pick out a good odyssey putter fitting your style.

OK here's a start Eric.

I am a Pelz style or at least I try to be.

I am tall (6' 4") and use a 34 inch putter. Length feels fine.

My hands are ahead of the putter face.

I think I am most puzzled about the loft and lie. How do you know if your putters loft and lie is appropriate?
