First shot choke

So I have played 6 rounds now since I started this thread, I have used the advise everyone offered.

From hitting a a few ball prior to each round, and using the club that I was going to tee off the first hole with.

Taking a very slow and controlled swing.

I have even until today stopped using a score card, just to get me back on track.

To date i have been able to get a clean shot off each time. It may not be the longest in a couple cases but it has worked. In all 6 times each ball was playable so thanks to all of you who took the time to respond.

All this means is that you have already used up your annual allotment. Sorry to be the one to break it to you. But don't give up ......

A great way to overcome a "choke" or part of the course that you seem to be having particular trouble with.. Is to ONLY think of your Pre shot routine, when thats done, it doesnt matter where the ball goes, as long as you have gone through your routine and are 100% satisfied with it.. then step up and hit that ball, but ONLY when you are 100% happy with your pre shot.. I had this problem when it came to the last hole of comps..

I remember I was about 3 clear going up the last after having a cheeky look at a leaderboard.. and walking up to my drive I was saying "DO NOT MAKE A TRIPLE.. ANYTHING BUT A TRIPLE" when really that was about the worst thing I could have done, now I revert to being 100% happy with my pre shot, It totally helps me forget about the shot ahead when I just need to make a nice swing, the rest takes care of itself.
