Who play's 4 wedges? who has replaced their PW with another wedge i.e. 48 degree? To clarify say one was to buy a set of wedges then garage the pw and buy a 48 degree vokey. Have you done this?

I carry 4 wedges. PW-46*, GW-52*, SW-56*(used for bunkers only because of bounce) & LW-60*.

I play three, but I'm pondering a fourth (GW).

I've got a 46* PW, 56* SW, and a 60* LW.

I used to carry 4 (48, 51, 56, 60). But replaced the 51 with a 2i hybrid. Now carrying 3 (48 R7TP, 54 Vokey Spin Milled, 58 Vokey Spin Milled). Low bounce on the wedges so I can open them up if I need more loft.

I've also replaced a 48 degree "set" wedge with a new 48 wedge. However, I only did it because I had worn the grooves out on the "set" wedge.

I play 4 wedges, although I haven't replaced the PW from my set. Part of the reason I carry 4 wedges is the PW from my set (TA5 Gunmetal) is 45 degrees, giving me a huge gap between that and my sand (56). So I have a PW (45), GW (51), SW (56) and LW (60)

This topic has come up quite a bit lately which really shows the importance of the wedge/short game.

I went with the same option today. 48 degree oil can, 54 degree spin milled, 60 degree spin milled. VERY happy with the yardage gaps.

and thats it folks. I do carry a 36 degree chipper for putts just off the green. I am thinking about picking up a 52 GW, but really... i dont even know if ill need it. My short game is by far the strong point of my game with just the two wedges and the DfX putter so if it aint broke dont fix it.

I currently use 54 and 58 Callaway X-Tour wedges along with a 48 degree Callaway Forged + wedge. Ideally I should probably have the 54 bent to 53 to create equal gaps between the 3 clubs. I have also used the 48-54-60 combination and that works about as well over all. I personally favor 3 wedges over 4 as it simplifies things for me on the course. A 4 wedge system is probably just fine for some folks, "whatever floats your boat" as they say.
