I took the plunge today and picked up a set of Taylormade Rac OS irons R5 XL 3w, 5w and a R5 XL driver, I was originally going to get a set of Cleveland launchers but they were not sold here so after a lot of swinging and hitting in the store Taylormade was my choice. You know I had to hit the range afterwords and I'm really impressed with them. The Racs are very forgiven for a beginner like me, the 3 and 5 woods are really easy to hit and hit straight at that. The R5 XL driver, what can I say other than sweet, since starting golf I have struggled with the driver I usually hit in the 175-200 yard mark but with the XL I was consistently at the 225-250 mark. So over all I think I got a good set of clubs that will grow with me. Time to hit the course and really test them.

How forgiving are the RAC's?. My local store is selling 3-Pw for £199 so I was thinking about giving them a try.

Congrats on your new clubs - I would also detour to the nearest range on the way home. With clubs you like it will be easier to work down your handicap. Good luck!
