Greetings.  I have attempted to golf many times, but never tried to learn the game.  I first started playing on a regular basis while stationed in Norfolk, VA for a couple of years.  Since then I have played much less often than I would like, but have gotten back in to it with a couple of guys from work.

I went a little crazy last summer and gave up one hobby for another.  I sold my project motorcycle and used the funds to buy some new clubs to replace the 10 year old hand me downs I had.  Now I'm trying to learn the game more to justify the purchase to myself. Thanks in advance for all of the help and encouragement.

Good luck with your game.

I play around Chattanooga quite a bit at Moccasin Bend, Brown Acres, Brainerd, and Trenton Ga.

I like the course at Trenton (if I can manage to get through the 3rd through the 5th holes in the neighborhood of par). Ha ha!

I try to play Moccasin Bend fairly often.  I just moved to the area last year and found their twilight specials during the summer. Never played the Trenton course, but I think a co-worker just bought a place close.  Might have to check it out.

Thanks for the welcome all.

    • I had a few tweeks in the bag. I took out my Mizuno pro FliHi 3 iron replaced it with a Titleist GT2 7 Wood. what a change that is, so easy to hit, it goes so high without it ballooning on me. I couldn't get rid of my callaway woods ( Rogue ST Max LS ) but changed the shafts to Diamana BB 63 stiff for the driver and 73 stiff for the 3 wood. Than i got myself a new putter Odyssey S2S jailbird yes i joined the centershaft family
    • First off all i think you should use the same ball all the time. We all strive for consistency on the course, the only factor you can be sure it will be always the same is your ball if you always use the same. So i think we should always use the same. I recently switched from Titleist Pro V1x to Srixon Z-Star Diamond because it i get a bit softer feel around the greens and same results on driver and irons
