I should have taken a couple of photos but did anyone see that little bit in the first hour of coverage on Golf Channel yesterday?

Nobilo commented that compared to his 2011 US Open swing, McIlroy's backswing was more inside and at the top, less across the line. Also hands deeper on the backswing, hands higher at A7 and standing up more on the followthrough.

The camera angle looked iffy on the left side, but are those comments correct and why did he make those changes?

According to McIlroy when he made the swing changes last year, posture and swing plane were the biggest factors. He did know he was across the line at the top and his plane was too steep. So what you're noticing now is probably a flatter plane.

Pretty much what you noticed is exactly what Rory wanted to work on.

Ryan

I saw that last night too.....I wished that they had done a comparison of his current swing versus his swing at the PGA last year though.  The compared his current swing to his US Open win in 2011 though, and that is almost two years ago.  He was dominate last year like at the PGA, so I'm not sure why they did not use footage from that event to compare?
