I will be traveling starting tomorrow for 2 weeks and once I return, I intend on getting fitted for new irons and to keep my life simple likely will do it the same day as I go in for a lesson.

So here is the question, should I get a lesson first (my golf game is always at its best immediately after a lesson) then after that take a 15-30 min break, and have my fitting scheduled after that?

Should I get fit first, then take a lesson?

Or is it a bad idea to do both on the same day?

at this point in my lessons we are not making huge changes, we are really more like working on drills to shorten and control back swing and work on a better impact position.

Is it beneficial or deter mental to be fitted by the same pro that does your lesson?

Thank you in advance

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

If you have a pro who's not under pressure to sell Brand Z clubs at all costs, this can work out fine.

Golf Galaxy has a Platinum Fitting that can be combined with lessons. It probably works best if you had some lessons with the pro last season, so he has some idea of what your swing looks like, and needs.

I tested several irons I had previewed at outdoor demo days, but ended up keeping my X20 Tours - turned out I was hitting them on the toe because of a swing flaw. Lessons straightened this out.

I did, however, end up replacing all woods and hybrids.

If you get a full fitting, you can get a list of ideal clubs plus the fitting and shaft data for each type. That way, you can buy them a few at a time as money become available.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Thanks for the advice, I currently visit a pro (have been going for 3-4 years) at Golf Galaxy, so I will inquire with them when I book my next lesson.

So I did some research on the platinum fitting, and it looks like a great deal if you place a high value on golf galaxy fittings (seems to depend on which store you go to) that being said, I am only interested in irons / hybrids and possibly a new fw wood. But I already got fit for the fw (ping 4w with tour stiff shaft) Since the irons fitting is the same regardless of brand, I am going to go with the regular iron fitting. Both are 45 min appointments, so I booked back to back appointments and will let the pro decide what to do, maybe he will just combine them all into one. Thanks for the advice.
