I want to get some video software so I can analyze my swing during and after practice. I have Windows 8 & Windows 7 and no Android or iOS devices. I'll use my Panasonic GF1 camera in record mode or my phone to record swings.

It looks like V1 is the leader. Any others I should consider?

Also, has anyone used the David Leadbetter Interactive software? Is it the V1 Pro software? Any idea what version / year it might be?

Does the V1 home version support HD?

They have so many versions it is tough to figure this out, and I haven't seen any really thorough reviews which are recent.  Thanks.

Leadbetter interactive is just a re-branded v1 really.

I have both on my pc (v1 free version),The problem I had with windows 7 was that I needed to download the vista update for Leadbetter Interactive to fix an issue where when drawing lines the video would disappear.

Thanks, that is helpful.  Did you notice any additional features with the Leadbetter version vs V1 Home? I'm wondering if you can do multiple cameras, etc.  Do you recommend just getting V1 Home or going for the Leadbetter one?

I only have V1 Home Basic - the biggest difference between this and Leadbetter Interactive (LI) is that you can do side by side swings in LI. You will be able to do this if you upgrade V1 to the premium version.

LI for me won't run at a higher resolution than 1024x768, but V1 will run at my monitor's native resolution which is 1680x1050.

Both will allow you to download swing models of pros but I think you'll need to pay a subscription for that...

Overall, if you upgrade to the premium version of V1 they'll be pretty much the same. I'd tend to use LI so that I can compare my swing to others, but like I said, if you upgrade to V1 home premium you'll be able to do the same on there.

I've added a screenshot of each below.

Or, if you have a Mac, have a look at what evolvr use - http://analyzrgolf.com/

For Erik - are there any plans to make a version of Analyzr for Windows, or Linux?

    • Day 125: jam packed day, so only had time for a little putting on my mat. Worked on getting the handle slightly more upright at address primarily.
    • Day 309 - More of the same, grip/backswing/downswing rotation. This time with the Divot Board.
    • Day 50 - 2024-11-19 Hit about 20 balls focusing mostly on the backswing. That's going to be my November and December.
    • They need to do something to speed  up play. They could randomly  time  players. One  idea would  be  if a group gets  out  of  position they are disqualified. If its a group of  3 and  its  1 player playing like  molasses i can imagine an exciting interaction, lol
    • I agree with @dennyjones, a suspension of some meaningful duration would be better than getting bounced from the Tour. They might consider experimenting each week. It might generate a bit of interest. I like the idea of a visible shot clock. If a player and their caddy can’t decide on a strategy and pull the trigger in XX seconds (30? 45? 60?), one stroke penalty. Give each player 2 resets a round. The clock starts when the last player to hit’s ball stops moving. Other pace ideas could be used every couple events until a consensus is reached to adopt or ditch an idea.
