Guys this Sat we are playing Dos Lagos and was wondering if any of you have played this course?

If you have how did you like it, how was the course and the people there?

This was a christmas present for three rounds, so my son, father in law and myself are playing.

Thanks

Hey Hacker, I haven't played there.  But you may want to reschedule your tee time for another day.  I looked at their website, and they just did aerification today... So the course (in particular the greens), may really be bumpy/sandy to putt on.  And may not be that enjoyable.

Thanks but have to play this weekend my father in law is on vacation for a month after that and promissed him that spot.

The tickets are only good until the 7th and that is our outing with the club. My bad for not setting this up sooner, but that for the heads up...bummer!

Bright side though ... the website also says that everybody who plays between now and the 25th goes in a drawing for a free R1 driver!  You never know .... :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I played there once when I got a discounted tee time. It ate me up and I lost a lot of balls there. But now that I'm a better golfer, I like to return and see how I do. I remembered it was wide open on some holes and other holes, it was tight.

It was the front 9 that did me in, missing the tight fairways with that slice I had did not help.

Back 9 was open love the tees hitting off a clif was fun, would play again at some point.

I got it as a present so all good, it was a bit hot mid day but that is Cornona. i would make it for early morning next time and not in the middle of summer.

Ah yes, the cliff hole. You're right, that was fun! I played it in the afternoon too and it was a scorcher. Strange thing is that there was hardly any breeze.

    • I would say your back nine is the second nine you play that day. It's part of what makes getting some of those holes tougher. Or, if 18 holes are played pretty often, out of A, B, and C, and you often play A and C, A is the front and C is the back, regardless of the order you play them in. That way not birdieing C #7 isn't overcome by birdieing the easier A #7 on a day you played it C-A instead of A-C. But, at the end of the day, nobody really cares except yourself.
    • Day 128: played 9. Nice little even 9, with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys.
    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
    • Day 204 (22 Nov 24) - Weekly men’s group round today.  Temps in the upper 40’s, WNW winds 5-15mph - was the old man in the foursome (next youngest is my junior by 10yrs) - held my own against them.  Iron play getting more consistent -seeing predictable ball flights and distances. While the consistency coming around still had sone solid negatives as I had two dbls and one triple. On the plus side - eight pars and one birdie.
    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
