I've recently begun checking out the three, lower-priced Callaway golf balls -- HX Hot, HX Diablo, and HX Warbird.  I know that the HOT is a 3-piece ball, while the other two are two-piece balls.  Has anyone else done any testing or comparison of these three balls.  The Callaway web site does not tell us much.  What is the exact differences between these three balls -- especially between the Diablo and Warbird.  Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

BTW, as for me, I am a 61 YO high handicaper with a swing speed of 75-85.  In your opinion, which of these three balls will work best for someone with my limited abilities.

Having played every Callaway ball available in my time, I would honestly tell you to shy away from them at your handicap and swing speed. You would not really benefit from the 3-piece ball, so consider the HX-Hot out of the equation.

You should be looking for affordable 2-piece balls, such as the Slazenger line. These often retail at 3 dozen for $25.00. However, if you're committed to Callaway, I would recommend the Warbird out of the balls you mentioned. The Diablo would benefit you more if you were consistently around 85mph rather than the latter.

    • For those of you who like F1 racing. I find this sort of thing fascinating from just the engineering aspect. I don't follow F1 that much, but I find it amazing the things we have created.
    • Yea, if Patrick Reed never wins another tournament again I wouldn't mind that. He is the most unlikable golfer, maybe ever. Don't get me wrong, I grew up watching Wrestling. I am all for there being heels. Yea, he sucks, he is a cheater, he can lose all the tournaments he is in.  I agree with the others. I don't get the Scottie hate. He is a very likable guy. I have huge respect for his game. It's wouldn't mind seeing him end up with more majors than Rory, Phil, etc...
    • Yea, that is a stupid question to ask. Also, let's say if you rank the two out of 100. What if the 83rd PGA tour win is like 99/100 and a Ryder Cup is 98/100. That doesn't diminish the Ryder Cup. It isn't an either or. Especially if you ask him which PGA Tour win. What if it is another major? What if it's another tour championship? Maybe another Memorial Tournament that has a super strong field?  You want to make this a simple black or white question, but it isn't. Maybe he would surprise you. You have no clue. Maybe Tiger actually regrets all those performances and outcomes in the Ryder Cup. He is a hyper competitive person who has an understanding of his legacy in golf. I am sure he knows the Ryder Cup record is a blemish on the GOAT performance he has.  So yea, you have no clue, no evidence, and sound just like a hater.
    • Maybe because he spells Scotty with an “ie” instead of with a “y” like a real man?
    • I have none except this - hook him up to a lie detector test and ask if he would rather have that 83rd tour win for solo first or another Ryder cup victory?
