Let me start by giving you a little idea of the wide range of clubs in my bag.

I have a Mizuno driver Stiff Flex shaft. (i hit this club 240-275+ depending on if I hit the range before a round)

Taylormade Burner Superfast 3-Wood Regular shaft. (i have hit this 275 off the ground but i average around 225-250 off the tee)

Bobby Jones 20* Hybrid Stiff flex (just added this to my bag, its quite inconsistent dont know if i want to keep it in their)

Rocketballz 5 iron Regular Flex (i hit this 200 yds and about 215 off the tee)

Rocketballz 6 iron Stiff Flex (i hit this 170-190 depending on how im hitting on a given day)

Pinemeadow excel irons 7-PW Regular flex (i can only hit these if i swings easy and just hit them)

52* Snake-eyes wedge Regular flex (i hit this inside of 110 yds and am pretty good with it)

55* Mizuno Dual Wedge Regular flex (i used to use this all the time broke the shaft and then added a 56* that matched my 52* and loved the 56* but i just lost it last week so i had to add the 55* and getting used to it again)

60* Snake-eyes wedge Regular flex (only use it on high flop shots)

My problem is that between my 6 iron and 7-PW i have to take different swings. I can put a stronger swing into my stiff 6 iron and hit it long and accurate, but the same swing with my regular flex irons makes the ball go wild...

I'm wondering if the regular flex is forcing me to swing easier and costing me yards.

Im thinking about just buying the entire Rocketballz iron set with Stiff flex irons, but i am a lot more accurate with my regular flex irons but its costing me a lot of yards too...

I dont want to have to hit a 8 iron from 140 when i know it should normally be 150

What do you guys think is better for a young guy like me who is trying to shave a few more strokes off his game.

Should i get stiff or regular flex irons?

Is it better to go to stiff irons and put some "oomf" behind it and add yards, or is it better to just swing easy, have better contact and a little more accuracy, but lose some yards with the regular flex irons?

two things -

1 - your distances look like stiff flex, and it can checked with a fitter..  FWIW I like the same flex in all my clubs......

2 - who cares how far you hit, if the 8 is accurate to 140, then it's a GREAT 140 club.....that said, if you had the same flex and the same swing, that's an easier thing to manage.

two other things -

1 - I don't know know if it matter much in the wedge/short iron range - would be nice to know if someone knowledgable about it chimes in

2 - I really like to take my wife's driver and swing it once in a while for a few range balls.  Since I know the shaft is LOW stiffness, I purposely change my tempo and swing to match the feel of that club.  It's nice to switch off and think mechanics - and I CAN hit the heck out of that club too and I learn a little bit that I can take and apply to my general learning.  I think the lower stiffness helps me understand tempo and contact a lot better as a result and it's helped me in hitting my own clubs (stiff on all - driver is a Project X 6.5 - whatever that means.  The other clubs just note "S-Flex" or the like)
