In the past couple of days I have found out that the Cleveland Launcher LP irons are terrible clubs. I can't hit them at all. My iron play was really bad the other day, so on the back nine my dad suggested I try his Taylor Made RAC OS irons. Boy, HUGE difference. They are a TON lighter then the Cleveland's and just jump off my club face. I was adding 5-10 yards with each iron. Just amazing. My dad likes the RAC's but he wants a more workable iron.

He is considering the 735.cm and the Mizuno MP 60's and also considering the Callaway X-Tour's...so, I'm going to be getting his clubs in the next week or two. I can't wait, because I hit them sooo much better.

Some of that yardage might be due to the fact that the TMs have a little bit less loft than your LPs in anything more than an 8 iron...

I have been playing the OS's this year and after fitting they are a great budget set! I have been trading back and forth with those and some blades......not quite ready for the blades yet.

Hey, nifty; you found a new set of irons you love. That's a great result. How long have you had the Cleveland Launcher LP irons?

I was going to suggest an alternate reason for the yardage gain, but gompers beat me to it.

i play Launcher LPs too and i have picked up the shanks this week. i have been hitting every club in driver, fairway wood, wedges and putter well but i cant get the ball in the air at all right now with any of my irons. i dont know what im doin. today i drove the ball really well and my wedge game was the best ever but my irons were pathetic. im not blaming my clubs, when i hit them they are great i just have to figure out what im doing wrong.

I've never liked the Launchers. Leading edge was too sharp, sole was too thick, and it just didn't look right to me with that huge cavity at the back.... Ahhh.... TM's technological advances are astounding, huh Longer shafts, stronger lofts. They even seem to deceive themselves with regards to their own product range. I remember the old XD (Extra distance) irons had exactly this same 'technology'....

The shafts are a ton lighter then any other iron I've ever touched. Some kind of true temper ultralite or something...amazing.

So yeah, my dad got the RAC "blades" or "low cavity back" (dont know the proper name...I THINK it's the 2005 or 2006 version of what Iacas plays.) and now my dad loves those...so now we both have RAC's.

My first round with the RAC's in my bag: (+2) 38.
