My son and I just returned from playing 2 rounds at Ballyneal outside of Holyoke in far eastern Colorado.

The course is absolutely magnificent. It is a Tom Doak masterpiece.

Not one weak hole among the 18.

The greens are spectacular--difficult but they putt very true.

The course is in excellent condition. Balls roll a long way in the fescue grass fairways.

The lodging and food are excellent as were our caddies.

It is a 3-3 1/2 hour drive from Denver but not a difficult drive.

They are looking for new members following 3 tough years.

Now is the most opportune time to join this magnificent club.

I've been in the golf club and resort business for over 30 years and this is by far the best value

for the dollar when considering the quality of the golf course and surrounding accomodations. Ballyneal's

remote location is its biggest challenge.

This is a fantastic club. They are expanding and going to allow carts in limited amounts. They do have a very large issue with their logistics, something that isn't insurmountable with the right marketing campaign. Hope they keep this gem just that.

Happy Gilmore was a Hack!

Glad to hear the club's financial health is improving. I've read nothing but great things about the course other than the remote setting. But this has not hurt other private clubs like Sand Hills.
