I have been hitting a Cobra L5V. It is a 11.5 with a regular shaft. I have been looking for a new driver and every store is trying to sell me a 10.5. I tried a G20 10.5 and loved it. One of the best feeling drivers i have hit. Problem is I sliced too much. I went back to my L5V and my little playable fade came right back as always.  When I go into a store and mention a 11.5 They look at me like an idiot and tell me I am cheating myself of distance. My thought is I will give up 5 yards to be in the fairway. Any thoughts on this.

You wont really be cheating yourself of distance if it suits your swing. I play a 10.5* and because of my slower swing speed I actually gained significant distance with a 12*. I am a very low spin guy so the added loft gives me better carry which then yeilds distance. Get fit. I wish I would have a year ago when I bought my current driver.

Take your L5V to the store and hit it on the simulator and then try some others.  The L5V is a great club.  You might find the forgiveness of the L5V hard (or impossible) to beat even if you can hit another club 10 yards farther.

you may want to keep that Cobra, I bought a new TaylorMade last year and while I do hit it further I am not as straight.  The L5V finds the fairway much better even on mishits.  As far as loft, whatever you hit better is better, no matter what a salesman/pro tells you.  Golf is a personal game.
