Hey, guys I have a quick question I wanted to go play golf (by myself) tomorrow and I have never booked a tee time so I have a question. Why do I have to book one am I not allowed to just show up pay and play? I am just asking because whenever I played before my dad would handle all this or my Grandpa (He has his own club) so I was just wondering do I have to set a time. Thanks!

Depends where you play. Probably not. I've only ever HAD to book tee times on weekends. Weekdays, regular time, but especially twilight, should be empty.

What kind of course? Most will have no problems with a single walk-up. You could call and ask what kind of wait is there for a single, if it's open, they'll just say "c'mon down". If there is a wait, you can get on the list and tell them you're on your way, or just ask for one in an hour if it takes 30 minutes to get there, Generally no need to use a booking site for that kind of play. If you have a luxury of several courses nearby, call a few and fid one that will get you out with the least hassle.

It's not a very nice course. Me and my dad played it last week and there was like 12 people on the whole course so I guess I will just go and see thanks!

For not so nice courses I have never had a problem just showing up and getting in.  Even if they are packed they will usually just say, "Oh, we can fit you in."  So it shouldn't really be a problem.
