Mizuno JPX FliHi Iron Repacement

Can anyone explain why this is different from your typical hybrids?? It's definitely shorter than hybrids! Would you recommend someone who is about 12 handicap for this type if clubs! I am currently using Titleist 585 hybrids but thinking about switching to these iron replacement! How is the tragetory and launch angle?? Anything would be helpful!

Theyre supposed to directly replace long irons because they have the same shaft length and hit the ball the same distance, unlike most hybrids that have a longer shaft than an iron and hit the ball slightly farther.

The launch on them is pretty high but they are very forgiving and easy to hit.

One thing you should know is that they have quite a lot of offset, so you might hit big hooks with these at first.  That and theyre pretty ugly clubs.  They work well but theyre pretty ugly.

I own one of thses

Makes an awful noise on impact, Sort of like a tinny sound

Very easy to hit though and thats from someone who has been playing only 6-7 months

I can definitely live with ugly looking club and tinny sounds, as long as I get pretty high launch and distance from the club. It does help that it is forgiving as well!

What do you hope to gain by switching?

The distance actually isnt that great with them.  The short shaft makes them shorter than a traditional hybrid.

Basically, if you struggle with certain irons and want something that hits the ball the same distance as that iron but is easier to hit, they are a good option.

The JPX FliHi bring long irons back into play. Between the FliHi irons and Fairway Woods, there's room for a hybrid or two.

I tried them a couple years ago and wasnt a big fan.  Too much offset for me.  If Im going with a hybrid, Id personally prefer a MP Fli-Hi or MP H4 over the JPX Fli-Hi.  I honestly expect Mizuno to stop making the JPX Fli-Hi soon because it really hasnt been a successful club for them.

You'll notice that there is a JPX-800 HD iron set but not a JPX-825 HD.

Since Callaway released it X Utility Prototype iron, do you think Mizuno will reload its MP Fli-Hi?

I just picked up a new JPX 800 HD set in an ebay auction last night......$247 for the set 4H, 5H & 6-PW with Dynalite XP shafts.

Anybody in The Sand Trap using these?

My intention is to use their New condition (never Used)...and trade them in at Golfsmith towards the JPX 825's.  I checked & the trade in value is about the same as what I just paid.
