Just picked up a barely used set of Callaway RazrX irons with graphite shaft. Was fitted today with the Mizuno system and it actually recommended graphite, which I was really surprised by. I am a little worried about the switch, and am having second thoughts. Anyone else make this switch and have some advice/tips? Or maybe the only advice is go and swing away like always and don't think about it.

Just played my first round with them and shot an 84. Pretty positive experience. Lighter shaft left me not feeling as fatigued as I usually do. A question if anyone can answer: does graphite hinder feel of the ball off if the face? Trying to decide if it is just the new club head, the shaft or a combination. But I don't feel the mishits near as bad.

I just switched to graphite irons too. I like the lighter weight and I am getting better distance. The standard shaft lengths are slightly longer than standard steel length too. I haven't noticed a lack of feel but they are easier on my back and elbows.

If the Mizuno Shaft Optimizer said graphite, you believe it.  That thing is for real.  Really, with today's graphite shafts, they have improved a lot over graphite of the past to the point where a properly fitted graphite shaft, IMO, is just as good, if not better than comparable steel.

You dont play steel shafts in your woods or hybrids, so why should you play them in your irons?
