Hello all, name is Matt. I am getting back into the game after a few years off and it feels like I have never played before. Seems like a lot of good information here, hope you don't mind if I stay a bit.

Welcome. I'm visiting the Grand Rapids area next month and have rounds scheduled at Quail Ridge (Ada) and Eagle Eye (Bath). Looking forward to some nice pre-fall weather up there.

Welcome to the forum Shenanigunz, here you will find a boat load of folks who love the game and and have a range of experience/opinions that cover just about everything to do with golf!

I have friends in the Windsor area and we are looking for some courses to play in Michigan which are approx 30-60 minutes from the boarder.

I would appreciate any recommendations that you may have.

Eagle Eye is a great course. Played an outing there a few years ago and it was one of the best courses I have ever played. I am I. The genesee county area, Flint. My fav local course is the Preserve south of Fenton. Was a member at Davison for a few years, and I believe it is now open to the public on the weekdays. I can't really suggest any course near Detroit as I never travel south to play. Michigan is great, only downside is the winters.

Thanks. Good to hear. I'm playing Eagle Eye on Thursday afternoon. Weather forecast for next weekend looks amazing. Sunny and highs in the mid 70s. Nice change of pace from the hot and humid weather we still have down here.

Right around the corner.   I live down the street from Copper Ridge.    I've played quite a few different courses this year around Genesee County but my local / semi-local favorite is Fore Lakes in Kimball, MI (near Port Huron).

Didn't know that Davison was open to the pubic on the weekend.   I thought you had to be a member or a member of the Athletic Club to play.

Was in Glen Arbor for several days and played Arcadia Bluffs (47 miles away). When you turn in off the highway you feel like you are in Scotland. I was in awe for 18 holes it was spectacular! You reach a green in regulation and expect to two putt for par but no way, their greens are multi-tiered and undulted.
