Today, I went 14-8-9 before I stopped keeping score (just as well, got rained out after 7 holes anyway). I managed to put a total 8 balls into the woods on three holes, all of which were duck-hook drives off the tee. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong - even a toe shot duck-hooks. I don't have the problem with my 3 wood, any of my irons (in fact my iron play is the best it's been all year), but being 9 off the tee is a game killer no matter how you put it.

I doubt I'm closing the club at impact, because I'm not duck-hooking anything else - could an extreme inside out (as a result of an attempted extension) be the problem here? Just curious what everyone else here thinks.

My dad draws the ball off the tee, but fades everything else. When he duck hooks it, he falls back and doesn't transfer his weight...result is a lazy hook about 150 yards into the woods.

Make sure you get to your front foot. (he only falls back like this on his driver...)

Yeah, that's a problem I've also been having recently. I'd go back on my right side and just stay there. I just couldn't extend that far, and I'd end up yanking the club to the inside at the last second, causing a slice. I focused on making a full extension, and it worked for about a day and my draw turned into a duck-hook.

I draw everything about 5-10 yards to the left (more or less, varies with which club).

I used to have a similar problem. I changed my grip and problem solved. I went to a much more weaker grip. I basically employ the exact same grip Hogan has in his Five Fundamentals Book, working wonders for me. Left hand neutral and right hand having the (v) pointed at my chin. Keep the club in your fingers as well.
