Got on one of those I want to spin the shit out of the ball fits and decided to fix what's not broken and changed my wedge shafts. I currently play 50* cg14, 56 and 60* xforged. Went to DG spinner shafts, I've lost about 10℅ distance in my 50 and 56 and also maybe a bit of control. Now I want to change shafts and really looking for what everyone else plays? What about the thought of keeping all your wedge shafts the same length?

I'm a little weird but I play with cheap Adams wedges but I put Project X 6.0 rifle shafts in them.

My wedges aren't the same length but I would mind trying it. Pretty sure I would like it better if the 60 degree and the 56 degree were the same length.

I'm playing KBS wedge (a dedicated wedge shaft, not the Hi Rev or Tour) in X flex and the control is fantastic. I do play X flex in everything as I'm very long, but it offers the best distance control in the wedges and keeps the ball flighted well. I can make a much better full swing with them compared to dynamic gold or the stock shaft in CG15s. I play the C tapers matching my irons in my PW however, and I feel that club is a bit longer and lower spin. I get the perfect amount of check depending on the ball and shot type, and the black nickel looks damn cool. Distance is about the same but I can hit it farther and straighter than the old ones if I choose; my contact itself improved with the better fitting shafts.

If you play a certain flex, I'd say you should play the same flex in your wedges that you use on full shots at times, even if you use them on shorter ones too. But if you're a poser who plays S or X flex to gain the fleeting respect of others, play the real flex you should be playing in your wedges. I won't judge anyone because many people will only learn by trying things out, but you know who you are. I swing my driver 120mph and play my PW from about 135, SW 120, and LW 100. That makes me a poor candidate for anything other than X, and it also means I need the control because I rely on my full swing whenever possible and I often have wedges into greens. Play what fits you and reject the stock shafts in all the off the rack wedges, as they seldom provide the best option.

As far as setup, I play my PW at 48 degrees and 35.5", and I have a 54 and 60 degree at 35.25 and 35. I had my 54, 60 wedges almost an inch longer when I first built them but it barely mattered distance wise, I hit them better now that they're the right length and about 2 yards shorter.

I'd play 4 wedges at .25" increments unless they have head weight or loft differences that make a difference. How you use the wedges also matters, like if you have a dedicated sand club or a lob wedge for chipping only. Personally I hit everything full and optimize the gaps and flight for that, and use technique for specialty shots rather than equipment.

PS: spinning the shit out of the ball is not good 99% of the time IMO. Play a prov1 or something if you want to do that, and learn the best technique for that shot if you like to have it. The spinner wedge shafts work nicely in a workhorse wedge around the greens if you like that feel, my brother likes them in his gap wedge that he uses for everything, but they aren't very good for full shots for most players. He hits approaches about 15 yards short with no release on full shots, but does spin the ball a lot. The trouble is, it sucks in the wind and loses distance when it spins a lot, and if you try to hit it hard it's difficult to do consistently.
