I learned on blades. Incorrectly. I played well however. Thought I could still hit them well if I swung properly. I was wrong. My 73 Hogan's are retiring. I am too old to hit them now. I just don't have the moxy at 50. Buying a co workers Calaway Razr irons this Spring. Also getting a 3 wood. Never thought I would give up on the blades. Thought I was tough. You guys were right. Technology is not that bad. lol. If any of you want the Hogan's just let me know. Lamskin grips. Very nice. I paid 50.00. You cover shipping and 20.00 and Ill ship them to you. I want them to go to someone who can use and appreciate. Matt in S. Indiana

Man...I wish I was 50 again. Played some of my best golf back then..Sorry to hear you have to move on from your blades.

Congratulations on having the moxy to accept that golf is hard enough that there's little reason not to use clubs that may make it a bit easier while staying within the rules. Very mature. :-P (And yes, wish I was 50 again too.)

Smart move.  Blades are great to look at but CBs and so much easier to hit and modern CBs are so long that its almost like cheating.  When the average golfer can hit a PW 130 yards, something is very wrong.  Back in late '90s, when I was 20 years old, worked out every day and always swung out of my shoes, hitting it 110 yards with a PW was crushing the ball.  Now, Im older, less flexible, dont work out and much and can hit it 130 with a nice, easy swing.
