I belong to a beautiful facility with three 9 hole courses.

I am interested in hearing what marketing efforts you may have seen employed to bring in both public play and new members.

We are a bit off the beaten path, so daily play is not heavy except some weekends. We have around 250 members but because we are in a sort of retirement oriented location, our members are probably 60% or more over 68 years old. Thus, finances could be a concern in a few years if we don't get new members.

Well you could lower the cost of membership for junior members to under 100 pounds. Also maybe you could make membership cheaper for people 18-24 as people in their early 20s cannot usually afford to pay for full adult membership.

You could also host tournaments and opening a restaurant or hall to host wedding parties etc...

There are many options.

Thanks for your reply. Our committee is working on ideas, one of which is to lower the initiation price for 18-25 year old to pay a reduced price or split the fee over a period of years.

With the waterside Marina and yacht club facilities we don't feel that weddings at the golf club are a stready enough revenue stream to warrant a facility update focused on that category.

But, I hope to hear ideas that have been successful at other clubs.
