This is i think a world first? if you saw my previous thread then you know
i took a taylor made r540 and repainted it and this is what i ended up with,

people said how would you line it up? it easy you use the direction of the
face to line up you club as always? anyway i wasnt to keen on the colours
so i did it again and this is where the world first bit comes it? i have
never seen anyone do anything like this before, ive seen swirled things but
not like this if you have please post a picure and prove me wrong then i wont
say it again as i dont like looking stupid in public, it happens ofter but as
homer says "what r ya gonna do?"

so i nitroed it and repainted it to look like this

what do ya think? please let me know and if you think it
suck feel free to say so cheers hago alan birmigham UK.

Haha! I think that's just frikken awesome! I like the swirls, personally, just as a matter of aesthetics. And the handiwork looks fantastic.

Kudos! Hope it plays as good as it looks

Bag It:

Nah no problem, i like the idea but id like something more simpler that looked nice and tidy. Think it in a glossy black with my name in gold diagonally across it would be cool. You should try it and see what it looks like, and if its nice then ill try it with my club

Wow that's looks awesome, could be kinda weird looking down at that trying to line up a drive (which I find hard enough to do anyway)... I'd love a pure black head with just 5 gold stars in a line helping me line up the drive - the gold stars representing Liverpools 5 wins in the Champions Leaue / European Cup...

remember when lining up your club you are at an angle to your driver also you are looking down on part of a sphere, in most casses, lines dont help, unless they've taken into acount the height of the tee, the angle at address and the sphere. thats a lot to ask. lining the face up works easy, trust me i tried it, i used to play scratch golf, not that that makes a diffrence. cheers again for the comments. keep em coming. alan uk sober!

Very cool work - a little busy so I wonder how it would be to actually use. I bet you could do good business custom painting clubs.

I like the idea of custom driver graphics. I think it'd be better if the colors match the Taylormade yellow and red colors. Also, it may be a bit too busy. But I like it never the less.

    • I was having a decent round (no doubles is a decent rough these days) when I got to eight and hit a drive that looked like it was going into a fairway bunker. I wish it had because, when I got to the ball, it was hanging on the edge of the bunker and I had no stance. I got into the bunker and just tried to baseball swing a wedge to advance it a little but I bounced it about ten yards into deep rough. I still had 185 to the green and envisioned my first double (at best). Probably should have taken my medicine with a wedge, but I pulled my 25 degree hybrid instead. I made good contact with a lot of topspin and it tumbled and rolled all the way to the green where I was able to two putt for a bogie to keep my "decent round" intact. 😎
    • I am in the same boat, a lefty who has played righthanded all my life because my Dad cut down some of his clubs when I was a kid to hit in the back yard. I am completely lefthanded except for golf, baseball and hockey. It took me years to engage my right side in the swing, but I had a killer backhand in tennis. I tried out playing lefty about thirty years ago, but it was very daunting. Length is enticing, and I could hit it farther lefthanded but it went all over the place. I only gave it about a month before I stopped and I should have given it more time because I think it could have worked out, but I was a decent righty at the time (around a 7 index) and wasn't willing to put in the time. I never had a lot of length, but I could keep the ball in front of me and there is something to say about being in the short grass. Good luck. Hit 'em straight!

    • Although the base rules don't make this really clear, the Player must have decided to use Unplayable Ball relief before lifting the ball.  This exact situation is discussed in the Committee Procedures section of the Rules, section 6C(8).  Section 6C addresses how to rule when a Player proceeds under a Rule that does not apply.  Note that 9.4 applies, 9.4 deals with a player moving his ball when no rule allows it.   Rule 9.4 penalizes the Player for lifting his ball when not permitted by the Rules, and requires him to replace it.  Since he dropped and played from a different place, the Wrong Place penalty applies.  As for a serious breach, that would only apply if the Wrong Place gave him a really significant advantage.  Since he could have taken Unplayable Ball relief in essentially the same spot, for just 1 penalty stroke, the Wrong Place penalty of 2 strokes is enough "punishment", there's no need to consider a DQ.
