Just wondering how people go about tracking the stats from golf rounds and practice sessions.
I count how many shots over par I am on each hole, and then make a note of the main reason why I went over par, ie bad drive, bad short putt, bad mid iron.
When I get home I put it all on a spreadsheet and which ever category cost me the most shots is what I work on until my next games.
Does anyone else a system they like to work with ?
Yes and no, depends on my mood and circumstances. A slow round makes it harder to get into some sort of rhythm and will usually cost me a couple of shots. On the other hand, If I go to a public/muni course on a weekend, I already expect a 5.5-6 hour round so I just take it in stride, enjoy the day and be thankful that I was able to play some golf on that day :)
First tournament of the year yesterday. Shot 80 (43-37). Made a quad and a double bogey on the front. On the back nine I had 3 birds, but also a bogey and a double.
So lots of good stuff mixed with a few awful holes :)
