I have 2 sets of Tour Edge Forged irons, My V-blades which I will take to the grave and exotics CNC Forged... I've heard that the Exotics Xtreme Forged CB's are forgiving, but was thinking of the Exotics CU's, but I may jump off the Tour Edge bandwagon and get Wilson Ci's but Tour Edge has a lifetime limited warranty and I would have to spend about the same on the ci irons for adjustments as where Tour Edge will do it for free... I have a hard budget of $1,200 to get all new custom fit clubs any suggestions would bee greatly appreciated thanks

Sorry, oth , but you're not giving us much to go on.

Just what are you looking for in slightly more forgiving irons? What problems are you having with the CNC Forged?

A site did comparison testing on several forged cavity-back irons, including your CNCs.

Going up against competitors such as the AP2 and MacGregor VIP, your CNCs came in last on accuracy, a couple of yard below average in distance, and one of the best if you want higher apex and higher spin.

Using the Golf Digest Hotlist categories, you may want to go with something from the Game Improvement category.

Remember, the fitting will also address what shafts you need. You haven't mentioned how you like your current shafts.

BTW: I played Tour Edge Bazooka Beta-Ti low profile FWs (3 and 5) from 2002-2008. Last year, I rejoined TE with an XRail 4W and 7W - the fairway woods are back (as long as I don't overswing).

Mostly the problem with the CNC's is distance I'm about 5 yards shorter with each club from 3-7 iron about the same with 8, 9, PW... and inconsistent misses... I'm ok with the S300 shafts though I like the S400 shafts in my V-blade Forged irons... I was thinking maybe the Dynalite 90 shafts in the Exotics CU irons would help with distance in my irons... Maybe just get my CNC Forged re-shafted?

Any chance you could get CNC Forged 6-iron head and try out some different shafts in it?

I couldn't find specs on the Dynalite 90 shaft, so I'm not sure what weight it would be. Probably a good 25 grams less than the S300s. Make sure you don't get  a shaft that's so light you can't feel when you're at the top, or you have trouble dropping it "into the slot" on your downswing.

I tried some 85-gram shafts in the past, and I lost both control and distance.

I will keep that in mind... part of the problem is my clubs aren't long enough, and the lies need to be adjusted but I'm going to probably just get that done
