On the Asian Tour, Dufner, Schwarzel, and many Asian  blokes tee it up for 3/4 million US$. Duf says his wife wants to ride the elephants and he looks forwards to winning and visiting the tourist sites of north Thailand. Don't know if he can have both. Old guys get in free to watch.

Game's on at the Alpine Golf Resort, 30 miles SE of Chiang Mai.  CM about 375 miles north of Bangkok, 1 hr 15 by air or 10 hrs via car over winding  and older roads. Weather forecast very mild, warm dry days (85*F) and cooler nights. Sunny, very small chance of rain any day.

Update.  The cut set at plus 2, !!!, thereby allowing CSchwartzel in for the weekend and the prize money. Leader, after 2 rounds, at -11. Of course board dominated by Asians from many lands, but JDufner at -6. Many players have good game but lacking experience on final days so we will see how it goes today.

Rory shot -2 each day (that would be Rory Hie, from Indonesia).  Guys from Thailand,  Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, Phil Islands, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, Switzerland, Oz, USA....etc. and most looking to take the next step forward on a very uphill career path.

Winner is Rashid Khan of India, shooting 4 rounds in the 60's and total one better than local Thai and fellow Indian. JDufner shot 66 final day to tie for 6th place at 6 behind leader.

Khan is 23 yeards old and is very slight of build. It's a wonder he can hit the ball as far as he does.   This is his first win outside India and 2nd pro win. Winner gets US$125K, a huge bankroll for youngster from India. Look for a good career.

Final day had a 45 min rain delay but finished in late afternoon with lovely Thai girls parading with dressed Elephant to  present the trophy to Khan.

See photo of Khan, girls and elephant here:
